Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of paving operations and seal coating prep/installation.
  • Valid driver’s license; Class A CDL preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Support paving, sealcoating, striping, and concrete crews on site.

What you’ll be doingThe Seal Coat Laborer will be a key member of our operations team, providing support to our paving, sealcoating, striping, and concrete teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to company standards.You will be responsible for…Communicating daily with the Project Manager and documenting job progress, including taking necessary photos (e.g., warranties, accidents).Setting up and maintaining proper signage, traffic control, and safety measures at job sites.Completing vehicle inspections, pre-job checklists, and ensuring materials are installed to specifications.Tracking materials, equipment, and labor on job sheets while monitoring weather conditions.Preventing overweight truck loads and ensuring efficient crew operations.Assisting crews by identifying and resolving work challenges to improve efficiency.Engaging with customers on-site and coordinating with supervisors on project activities.Managing tools, equipment, and supplies, including regular maintenance and upkeep.Supporting employee training, evaluations, and compliance with company policies and safety standards.Estimate crew hours needed for assignment completion.Coordinate with supervisors to align fieldwork activities.Build customer relationships by introducing yourself to clients upon job site arrival.Stay within budgetary limits for project expenses.Request tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.Oversee maintenance and servicing of all equipment.Participate in employee evaluations and development programs.Adhere to all company policies, including Drug & Substance Abuse and Sexual Harassment policies.Ensure safety protocols are followed, and protective gear is used on-site (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hard hats).What skills and experience you’ll bring to usWorks outdoors, exposed to weather, chemicals, odors, and environmental conditions.Must be able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, digging, climbing, and reaching.Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy equipment (up to 60 lbs).Able to work in challenging positions and detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms.Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required, with 1-2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Must have a solid understanding of paving operations, with proven skills in seal coating preparation and installation. A comprehensive knowledge of additional services, including asphalt repairs, crack sealing, catch basin repair, and parking lot marking, is also required.Must be able to apply basic geometry concepts.Valid Driver’s license required; Class A CDL preferred.
