Job summary

ShopRite of Williamstown in Williamstown, NJ seeks a Seafood Clerk to deliver great customer experience in the seafood department. The role involves preparing and packing seafood to company standards, ensuring freshness, and assisting customers with product knowledge.

The position requires reading and speaking English, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, standing for long shifts, and teamwork. Training and safety procedures are emphasized to maintain high QA and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak English proficiently.
• Ability to handle fresh and frozen seafood and related products.
• Ability to perform basic math and operate in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Stand, bend, twist, and work for long shifts.
• Work cooperatively with others and maintain attendance.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Receive, code-date, prepare, store, price-mark, scale, and restock seafood products.
• Differentiate between seafood varieties and explain differences to customers.
• Maintain product freshness, quality, and safe handling.
• Operate and maintain equipment, and report malfunctions promptly.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and QA standards in all tasks.
