Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Seafood Specialist to lead the seafood department with a focus on freshness, accurate merchandising, and food safety compliance. You will own inventory accuracy, rotation standards, and presentation, while supporting guest engagement and readiness for promotions and seasonal events.

Responsibilities include ensuring quality, executing planograms, coordinating with leadership on orders, and assisting customers on the floor.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work at a fast pace.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience.
• Preferred: Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools.

About the Position:

Are you known for your attention to detail and multitasking? Ready to take charge behind the scenes and keep our store moving at full speed? As theSeafood Specialist, you will be the store’s point person for seafood department excellence, ensuring product freshness, merchandising accuracy, and compliance with food safety standards. This role embodies passion, excellence, hospitality, and teamwork, delivering an exceptional guest experience while maintaining operational integrity. You will own seafood inventory accuracy, rotation standards, and presentation, while supporting guest engagement and department readiness for promotions and seasonal events.

The pay range for this position is $14.75 - $15.73 per hour

What You'll Do:

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools.

Physical and Work Conditions:

• Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, and exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Ability to use tools and equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Required to spend long periods of time on their feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law).
• Required to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.
