Wanchese Fish Company is seeking a Seafood Production Worker in Suffolk, VA. This full-time, manual-labor role supports a seafood processing facility, with responsibilities across packaging, labeling, sorting, and other production tasks.

The ideal candidate can follow written and verbal instructions, work well in a team, and be willing to learn new tasks across plant areas. Experience in food processing is preferred but not required.

Seafood Production Worker – Food Processing Facility

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Erecting boxes
• Filling boxes, trays, and bags
• Loading equipment with packaging and/or product
• Weighing product
• Labeling product
• Sorting product
• Trimming product
• Thawing product
• Performing other duties as assigned by management to meet production needs

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and work in any area of the plant as needed.
• Prior food processing or manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move product and packaging up to 50 lbs, with assistance for heavier items.
• Work is performed in a seafood processing environment that may be cold, wet, and noisy, and may involve exposure to strong odors.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as production demands.
