Job summary

Kroger in Sugar Hill, GA is seeking a Meat/Seafood Department Lead to direct and supervise all functions of the Meat/Seafood department. You will support day-to-day operations, maintain safety and cleanliness, ensure customer-first service, and uphold Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

The role involves coordinating schedules, training staff, executing promotions, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills for handling cash and calculations.
• Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.
• Current food handlers permit required upon employment.
• Experience managing or supervising staff preferred.
• Knowledge of cutting, traying, wrapping, and labeling meat/seafood products.
• Experience in seafood and retail environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve store goals.
• Establish department performance goals and empower associates to exceed targets.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume during operation hours.
• Train and develop associates and participate in performance appraisals.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Cut seafood to customers‘ requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
