Job summary

Food City is seeking an intern to support the seafood department. You will set up the seafood counter, ice the case, and prepare displays to ensure an attractive, clean presentation for customers. Daily merchandising of seafood and assisting with pricing are part of the role.

You will greet customers with a positive, friendly attitude, support a customer-first environment, and adhere to the company food safety program while ensuring a neat work area and on-site attendance for scheduled shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions and perform routine tasks.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts.

Essential Job Functions

• Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times in support of the company mission to “Run the Best Store in Town!”
• Maintain a positive attitude; create an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork.
• Generate a positive, friendly, and fun working environment with a customer first initiative by greeting and speaking to customers, provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service.
• Set up seafood counter
• Ice down case and prepare all displays
• Merchandise seafood daily
• Assist in organizing cooler/freezer arrangement and rotation of product
• Prepare seafood salads and specialty items
• Assist with pricing of all seafood
• Maintain neat and clean appearance of all seafood cases
• Follow company food safety program
• Keep workstation and area around workstation neat and clean
• Department is to be sanitized and cleaned at least twice a day
• Responsible for attending on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies
