Job summary

Diverse Facility Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Custodian for third shift at the SEA TAC/Seattle area. You will perform custodial duties and minor maintenance to keep facilities clean, safe, and sanitary.

Frontline cleaning across locations, handling trash, restrooms, floors, and windows, with emphasis on following safety procedures and proper chemical usage. Must be able to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions.
• Demonstrates good client/customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and switch between locations as required.
• Basic knowledge of general housekeeping methods and cleaning products.

Responsibilities

• Collect trash and replace liners; maintain clean receptacles.
• Work across multiple locations as needed.
• Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and horizontal surfaces.
• Vacuum carpets, mop tile and concrete floors.
• Wash and restock restrooms; manage dispensers.
• Empty trash in washrooms; clean mirrors and partitions.
• Clean window sills and windows.
• Perform minor maintenance repairs and report damages.
• Keep janitorial closets organized and equipment in good condition.
• Use and label chemicals safely and wear PPE.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

The Custodian is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that building and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Collect trash and replace garbage liners, clean garbage receptacles as required
• Ability to work between multiple locations
• Dust and cleaning of all furniture, fixtures, and horizontal surfaces as required
• Vacuum all carpeted areas, mop tile and concrete floor areas as required
• Wash, disinfect, and restock all restroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, paper and soap dispensers as required
• Empty trash in all washrooms, clean mirrors, walls and toilet partitions
• Cleaning window sills and windows
• Perform and/or report minor maintenance repairs and any damages
• Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner
• Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition
• Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals
• Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned

• The custodian reports to the Lead Custodian and the Custodial Supervisor and cares for the Main building/facilities and equipment. Maintaining these responsibilities will help to ensure the health, safety and security of the public.

Physical Demands:

The Custodian position is a physically demanding position. The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, lifting heavy objects.
