Job summary

Mercy Southeast Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the SE Weekender role. This part-time position offers 24 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts on weekends at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO.

You will provide nursing care under supervision, using the nursing process, while coordinating with other departments and protecting patient rights and confidentiality. This role emphasizes teamwork and professional accountability within the Medical Telemetry department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration for comparable education/licensure.
• Current LPN license in the hiring state.
• BLS certification or completion within 30 days; LPN-IV Certification completed or within 3 months for Missouri LPNs.

Job description

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details

• General: SE Weekender - Licensed Practical Nurse
• Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO
• Department: Medical Telemetry
• Status: Part-Time - 24hrs/week
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights - Scheduled Weekends
• Position may be sign-on bonus eligible up to $2,000***

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
• Experience: Experience preferred.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri. Other unit specific certifications as required.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Physical Requirements/Demands: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
