Savista, LLC seeks a Coding Specialist to review clinical documentation and assign codes for Same Day Surgery and Observation visits in acute care settings. You will ensure accurate APC calculations and data abstraction for billing and regulatory needs.

Ideal candidates hold CCS/CCA or related credentials and have 2+ years of recent hands-on coding experience, including ED/Anesthesia coding. This role supports our clients and collaborates with clinical staff to ensure compliant coding practices.

Qualifications

• Maintains up-to-date coding conventions across client assignments.

Coding Specialist will validate APC calculations in order to accurately capture the diagnoses/procedures documented in the clinical record. Coding Specialist performs documentation review and assessment for accurate abstracting of clinical data to meet regulatory and compliance requirements. Coder III may interact with client staff and providers.For each client, the Coding Specialist – Same Day Surgery, reviews documentation to code diagnoses for hospital-based claims and data needs. For physician-based claims and data needs, the Coding Specialist – Same Day Surgery reviews documentation to code diagnoses.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Code Same Day Surgery and Observation records for an acute care facility.Coding experience with ED, Anesthesia and I & I for facility sideAbstracts clinical data appropriately.Mitigates diagnosisTolerates short-term assignments for up to two different clients.Participates in client and Savista meetings and training sessions as instructed by management.Maintains an ongoing current working knowledge of the coding convention in play at client assignments.Performs other related duties as required.Minimum Qualifications:An active AHIMA (American Health Information Association) credential or an active AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) credentialMinimum of Two (2) years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience.Requires active CCS, CCA, CCS-P, COC, CPC, CPC-A, RHIT or RHIA credential.Note: Savista is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $28.00 - $33.00 an hour.
