Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and build a scalable SDLC analytics platform in Cupertino.

You will define unified data models and trusted event schemas across source control, build, deployment, and monitoring systems to enable end-to-end visibility. You will own data pipelines, streaming, and batch processing, using Kafka, Airflow, and Spark, with a strong focus on reliability, observability, and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong software engineering foundation with significant experience building and operating production data systems.
• Proven track record of designing, shipping, and maintaining data-intensive products end-to-end.
• Deep expertise in data modeling, including time-series and dimensional modeling approaches.
• Hands-on experience with event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka) and pipeline orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Spark).
• Proficiency in Java; strong SQL skills for data modeling and pipeline development; interface across ingestion to serving.

Responsibilities

• Data Model & Schema Engineering: Engineer unified schemas representing SDLC entities and events across all platforms.
• SDLC Platform Integrations: Design data pipelines ingesting events from source control, build systems, deployment services, test platforms, artifacts, and monitoring systems.
• Analytics Infrastructure & Database Architecture: Build scalable DB solutions optimized for SDLC analytics, including time-series storage and a data warehouse layer.
• Analysis, Tooling & Reporting: Deliver analytics to measure engineering effectiveness through DORA metrics and build intuitive visualizations.
