Job summary

Matterport is seeking a thoughtful and enthusiastic Software Engineer II to join our 3D Experiences team. As a developer for the SDK, you will build tools that empower internal and external customers to create on Matterport’s digital twin platform.

You’ll collaborate across product and engineering teams to deliver cohesive platform capabilities, writing clean, tested, and well-documented code with a focus on developer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years building and shipping client-side SDKs or developer-facing libraries.
• Proficiency in front-end development, including interface design, type modeling, and ontology.
• Passionate about developer experience: docs, examples, and release versioning.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging across a nested stack.

Responsibilities

• Deliver new SDK capabilities to embed, customize, and extend Matterport’s 3D web application.
• Define stable APIs to enable rapid frontend prototyping.
• Coordinate with QA to expand test coverage for the SDK and plugins.
• Champion new optimizations, design patterns, and best practices for the codebase.
• Own backward compatibility for SDK features and disciplined engineering.
