Job summary

SAIC seeks a Software Tester to join a mission-critical government-facing project in Nashville. You will contribute to an integrated Agile/SAFe team, designing manual test cases and building automated tests with Selenium and Playwright for UI and API layers.

You will execute tests within CI/CD pipelines, analyze results, and help ensure the reliability of Java-based applications. Familiarity with Pentaho, Liferay, and PowerApps is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted for a degree).
• 2+ years of total IT experience
• 2+ years of experience as a Software Test Engineer or similar role
• Strong experience with both manual and automated testing.
• Strong knowledge of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and testing methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience executing test cases, documenting results, identifying defects, and producing test reports.
• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining automated tests using Selenium.
• Experience testing or working with Java-based applications.
• Experience with configuration management and version control tools such as the Atlassian suite, JIRA, and/or Subversion (SVN).
• Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, priority-shifting, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organizational, presentation, and business analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex requirements and design documents to develop detailed manual test cases and automated test scripts.
• Perform manual functional, regression, integration, and system testing; document actual results.
• Design, create, and maintain Selenium and Playwright automated test suites (UI and/or API).
• Work with Java-based applications to design and maintain test frameworks and scripts.
• Execute automated test suites as part of CI/CD pipelines and run load/performance tests.
• Deploy software to test environments and monitor logs to identify errors.
• Prepare test summary reports at the end of each testing phase.
• Support QA checks to ensure deliverables are complete and align with SAIC standards.
• Participate in SAFe/Agile ceremonies and contribute to process improvements.
• Support testing of integrated solutions involving Pentaho, Liferay, and PowerApps.

You will work as part of an integrated Agile/SAFe development and test team, collaborating with developers, testers, and business analysts to ensure the quality and reliability of custom-developed software.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about quality, with strong experience in both manual and automated testing.
