Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an SDET Manager to lead Quality Engineering and software delivery transformation across the Medicare Sales & Acquisition ecosystem. This role translates business workflows into scalable automated testing solutions to improve speed, quality, and efficiency.

The position emphasizes hands-on technical leadership, AI-driven SDLC, and building a high-performing team aligned with enterprise goals, with a focus on AWS-native test infrastructure and scalable automation strategies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Software Development Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• 2+ years of experience leading automation strategy and/or managing engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Python.
• Experience building and integrating APIs and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools and frameworks (e.g. Postman, RestAssured, Karate).
• Proven experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress).
• Experience testing React-based applications, including component-level and end-to-end UI testing.
• Hands-on experience with AI/GenAI tools.
• Familiarity with Jira for workflow, defect tracking, and reporting.
• Ability to work East Coast business hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of AI-augmented Quality Engineering solutions - including agentic test generation, self-healing frameworks, and AI-assisted defect analysis - advancing the SDLC toward an AI-driven Automated Delivery Lifecycle (ADLC).
• Drive the migration of automation frameworks and test data management onto AWS-native services, enabling QE to scale with delivery volume.
• Advance the team's testing model toward agent-orchestrated QE with autonomous agents managing larger parts of the cycle.
• Translate business processes into actionable automation strategies and validation models.
• Design and implement automated SDLC pipelines, including requirement-to-test generation, PR impact analysis, and automated validation workflows.
• Establish evaluation frameworks and quality gates for AI-generated test artifacts and automation outputs.
• Integrate LLM-based and AI-assisted tooling into existing test automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise platforms.
• Drive adoption of modern automation frameworks integrated into CI/CD with quality gates and regression intelligence.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of SDETs, setting technical direction and career development paths.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, compliant solutions aligned with business outcomes.
• Identify high-value opportunities for AI-driven test automation and translate them into scalable Quality Engineering solutions.
• Establish standards, governance models, and reusable automation assets.
• Monitor and improve metrics like automation coverage, defect leakage, cycle time, and delivery efficiency.
• Communicate automation strategy clearly to engineering teams, architects, product owners, and leadership.
• Stay current with evolving automation technologies and enterprise practices.
