Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced SDET Engineer for a 100% remote role in the U.S. The candidate will design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks across web, API, and microservice ecosystems, partnering with product and engineering teams to ensure quality across the SDLC.

The role demands 10+ years in test-focused software engineering, strong programming in Java/Python/JavaScript/C#, and hands-on UI automation with Selenium/Cypress/Playwright.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Ten or more years of experience as an SDET or in test-focused software engineering roles.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major UI automation framework (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
• Solid experience automating REST and/or gRPC APIs.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for test automation.
• Solid SQL skills and experience with database validation.
• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
• Excellent debugging, communication, and documentation skills.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for web, API, mobile, and microservice testing.
• Write production-quality automated test code in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C# using UI frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Implement contract testing using Pact or similar tools to validate service contracts in microservice ecosystems.
• Build CI/CD test pipelines integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Develop performance test suites using JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust with realistic load models.
• Implement security testing fundamentals including dependency scanning, SAST, DAST, and OWASP checks.
• Lead test strategy discussions and promote risk-based and exploratory testing approaches.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and architects to identify quality risks early.
• Perform root-cause analysis of production incidents and translate findings into automated tests.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and uphold engineering rigor in testing practices.
• Maintain test documentation, traceability, and dashboards; contribute to internal testing tools and libraries.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SDET Engineer to bring strong software engineering practices to the discipline of test automation. In this role you will design, build, and continuously improve automation frameworks, write production-quality test code, and partner with development teams to embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC. The ideal candidate will combine strong programming skills with deep knowledge of testing strategy, including unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, and security testing in modern distributed systems. In this role you will work closely with cross-functional partners — product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders — to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions, and will be expected to raise the bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers. The successful candidate brings strong engineering discipline, a clear communication style, and a track record of shipping meaningful work that holds up well in production.

Key Responsibilities
