Job summary

Alteryx is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to design and implement automated tests across the pyramid, including UI, API, and performance testing. You will build scalable frameworks using Selenium, pytest, and Playwright, and drive testability improvements within AI-driven product workflows.

The role requires 4+ years in SDET/QA, strong Python and JavaScript skills, and experience with Docker/Kubernetes, Git-based CI/CD, and Locust for load testing.

Qualifications

• BS/BE/BTech in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience as Software Development Engineer in Test, QA Engineer, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Testing Pyramid concepts.
• Experience with automated UI/API/component/unit testing frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and data validation for test scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements to produce a comprehensive test strategy and detailed test cases.
• Design and implement manual and automated tests at all levels: unit, component, integration, end-to-end.
• Build scalable automated test frameworks for feature testing and AI-driven workflows.
• Develop and maintain automation for UI and API tests (Selenium, pytest, Playwright).
• Conduct performance/load testing (Locust) to ensure scalability.
• Create test reports (Allure) and communicate regressions to the dev team.
• Influence design decisions by providing testability feedback on design docs.
• Collaborate with engineers, product management, and UX in an autonomous, cross-functional team.
