Willamette University in Portland, OR, is seeking an energetic, inclusive educator to teach Sculpture and Foundation and contribute to the undergraduate curriculum and studio culture. PNCA has a rich studio culture and a history of collaboration across arts and design.

Requirements include MFA or equivalent and 5+ years of higher education teaching; active practice in sculpture or design; 3D CAD skills; and experience managing fabrication shops with safety training.

Qualifications

• MFA or equivalent; 5+ years higher education teaching.
• Active professional practice within sculpture/design.
• Experience managing design thinking and design strategy.
• Safety qualifications across ceramics, metal, wood, textiles, glass mold/casting.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools and safe workshop practices.
• Experience teaching inclusively and coordinating staff or volunteers.

Responsabilités

• Teach five courses annually focusing on Sculpture and Foundation.
• Mentor students and coordinate visiting artists and studio visits.
• Maintain daily presence in 3D shops and oversee core staff.
• Contribute to a 3D facilities program and improvement plan.
• Lead departmental scheduling and curricular development.
• Convene 3D faculty and mentor part-time faculty and staff.
• Participate in admissions, portfolio reviews and industry events.
• Engage in annual assessment planning.
• Maintain up-to-date syllabi aligned with Canvas outcomes.
• Participate in holistic student care and campus governance.
• Foster an inclusive, equitable and diverse learning environment.
