About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager / Scrum Master to support enterprise-level IT initiatives within an Observability & Monitoring portfolio. This role blends hands-on Agile delivery leadership with traditional project management responsibilities, supporting complex, high-visibility IT projects with multiple technical stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is comfortable managing Agile ceremonies, delivery tracking, and stakeholder communication, while also owning schedules, dependencies, risks, and financial tracking for technically complex IT projects.

Prior experience with monitoring or observability tools is a nice to have, but not required — candidates should understand at a high level what monitoring tools do and how they support infrastructure, network, and application environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Agile delivery across one or more IT projects, facilitating Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Manage and track Initiatives, Epics, Stories, and Tasks using JIRA boards
  • Partner closely with Product Owners to maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog
  • Coordinate delivery across multiple SMEs, technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Plan, track, and report on scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to leadership and stakeholders
  • Remove impediments and enable teams to remain focused on delivery
  • Apply Lean and Agile best practices to improve team efficiency and delivery outcomes
  • Manage cross-team and third-party dependencies to support successful releases
  • Maintain project documentation, schedules, and status reporting using standard enterprise tools
  • Support financial management for projects, including forecasting and tracking
  • Ensure projects remain aligned to quality, cost, and timeline objectives
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing Agile projects as a Scrum Master and/or Project Manager
  • Experience delivering technically complex IT projects (infrastructure, applications, platforms, or enterprise systems)
  • Experience managing projects with multiple SMEs and cross-functional teams
  • Strong working knowledge of JIRA (boards, workflows, reporting)
  • Solid understanding of Agile and Lean delivery methodologies
  • Experience managing support or delivery projects over $1M
  • Ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment in complex environments
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Nice to Have (Not Required)
  • Exposure to monitoring or observability tools (e.g., understanding what they do and how they’re used)
  • Experience working in a PMO or enterprise IT environment
  • Background supporting large utility, infrastructure, or regulated environments
Additional Details
  • Local candidates only (Northern California preferred)
  • Role is primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings
  • Personal laptop required (access via Citrix VDI or Microsoft Cloud PC)
