Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Surgical Tech to assist in the C-section and delivery rooms under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will scrub and assist surgeons, respond to call lights, transport patients, and help with triage preparation and stock par levels.

Responsibilities include maintaining room readiness, assisting with patient transfers to radiology or rooms, and ensuring supplies meet predetermined par levels while delivering safe, quality patient care during night shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of an ORT program preferred.
• 6 months of experience in medical field preferred.

• Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, performs all processes that relate to the delivery of direct and assistive quality patient care in the C-section room or delivery room.

• When not assisting with a delivery, the tech will assist with answering call lights and telephones; will pick up meal trays and return them to Nutrition Services; will keep triage room ready for patients, including but not limited to changing linen, cleaning bed space, and emptying trash.
• The tech will also provide basic patient care by assisting patients to the restroom and by transferring patients to triage, radiology, or patient rooms.
• The tech will also be responsible for stocking the department with appropriate supplies to pre determined par levels.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an O.R.T. program preferred

Experience

• Previous Surgical Tech experience preferred
• 6 months of experience in medical field preferred

Licenses, Registrations, or Certification

• BLS required
