Williamson Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to plan, implement, and evaluate ambulatory surgical patient care. The role requires a high school diploma, BLS within 90 days, and certification or completion of an accredited surgical technology program, with ongoing education and competency validation.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced OR, preparing equipment and supplies, assisting surgeons, and ensuring aseptic technique across multiple specialties.
Plans, implements, and evaluates ambulatory surgical patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
High school graduate. BLS within 90 days of hire. Surgical Technologists must meet one (1) or more of the following: Successfully completed a nationally accredited surgical technology program and holds and maintains certification as a surgical technologist from a national certifying body that certifies surgical technologists and is recognized by the health facilities commission; Successfully completed an accredited surgical technologist program; Has not, as of the date of hire, obtained certification as a surgical technologist from a national certifying body that certifies surgical technologists and is recognized by the health facilities commission; and Obtains such certification no later than eighteen (18) months after completion of the program. Successfully completed a training program for surgical technology in the armed forces of the United Sates, the national guard, or the United States public health service; or Performed surgical technology services as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility on or before May 21, 2007, and has been designated by the healthcare facility as being competent to perform surgical technology services based on prior experience or specialized training validated by competency in current practice. For persons not holding certification but is otherwise eligible, shall complete fifteen (15) hours of continuing education or contact hours annually to remain qualified for employment and shall submit verification each year.
The ability to work well under pressure, to function dependently and independently and to be flexible in applying basic nursing knowledge to a variety of setting. Equipment for the following surgical specialties: general, AEM; genitourinary, lithotripsy; ophthalmologic/Phacoemulsification/I&A; plastic; orthopedic/Andrews table/total joint replacement/Captain's Chair/ spinal fixation cases; ENT; obstetric/gynecologic; vascular; oral; Amsco Flash Autoclave; Network computer system, Omnicell Medication System, AT&T Language Line. A surgical unit with patient population ranging from less than one year of age> ninety-nine plus years of age. Requires the ability to communicate in English orally and in writing. Requires prolonged standing and working for up to twelve hours a day. Constantly required to push/pull objects up to 175 lbs. Requires the ability to lift and turn patients with assistance up to 250 lbs.
