US Eye in Charleston, SC is seeking a part-time Scrub Tech (PESC) to prepare the operating room and assist the surgeon during procedures. The role supports the operating room team in a fast-paced ambulatory environment.

The ideal candidate will follow surgical protocols, maintain sterile fields, handle instruments with care, and comply with applicable laws and the company’s Code of Conduct. This position offers regular weekday hours, with potential for additional shifts.

The Scrub Technician prepares the operating room and assists the surgeon during procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (other duties as required):
  • Equip and prepare the operating room .
  • Ensure the operative environment is safe and up to quality standards for both the patient and ASC personnel.
  • Working knowledge of the equipment, surgical protocols/practices used during surgery as well as an efficient and organized approach to the instrument tray and sterile fields.
  • Adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations. Follow s the principles of the Compliance Program as well as the Code of Conduct.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
COMPETENCIES:
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of material, methods, instruments, and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage time accordingly in order to meet deadlines and requirements of the organization.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a part-time position. Days and h ours are Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M, as needed.
