Job Title: Screw Machine Operator

Shift: 2nd Shift, 2:45pm-11:15pm, Monday – Friday

Hourly Rate: $24.00-$29.00/hour DOE + 10% shift differential; overtime and Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Operate one or more six‑spindle screw machines (typically two).
  • Maintain machines and work area sanitary and orderly.
  • Adjust tooling to keep parts within specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks (lubrication, cutting oil level, etc.).
  • Notify Lead of low tooling, production issues, or malfunction.
  • Complete time slips accurately and in full.
  • Inspect parts using quality procedures.
Job Duties
  • Bench set collets, feed tubes, feed fingers, drills, and cross‑side tools.
  • Change collets, bushings, and feed fingers in stock‑feeding mechanism.
  • Change gears, stops, and cams when necessary.
  • Inspect tools and verify against tool layout using gauges.
  • Adjust tools to bring parts into conformance with print; submit first piece for inspection and start machine.
  • Replace worn tools and sharpen cut‑off blades.
  • Load bar stock into bar feed mechanism.
  • Weigh parts accurately and empty/spin chips.
  • Notify lead or technical advisor if job is not producing.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Excellent written and oral English communication.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
  • Ability to lift weights up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to stand 75% of shift and work overtime.
  • Ability to collaborate with others.
  • Prior lathe experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Proficiency with calipers and micrometer.
