Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking a general laborer for its scrap yard in Montgomery, AL. The role involves unloading pallets and heavy boxes, sorting materials, unpacking packaging, and assisting with equipment maintenance.

The position requires physical stamina, ability to follow safety procedures, and a willingness to learn to sort metals and identify weights. High school diploma or GED preferred; bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unload pallets, boxes, and bundles.
• Material handling / sorting – push, pull, lift, carry items.
• Unpack boxes and sort packaging materials (plastics, zip ties, blister packs).
• Disassemble small equipment and remove bolts, wires, and parts.
• Operate recycling equipment such as metal shears, band saws, and wire strippers.
• Direct yard traffic and maintain clean work areas.
• Perform light facility maintenance and basic tool use.
• Maintain organization of materials to maximize space usage.
