Job summary

M&M Recycling in Locust Grove, GA is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely run heavy equipment, including excavators and balers, to process scrap metal and keep the yard running efficiently. You will sort, bale, and load materials, guide truck traffic, perform pre-trip inspections, and cross-train on other equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a yard or industrial setting.
• Experience in a scrap yard, recycling facility, or similar environment.
• Willingness to perform physical labor outdoors in all weather.
• Strong teamwork and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate excavator, skid steer, or wheel machine and baling equipment.
• Operate excavator with a shear attachment cutting steel.
• Sort and bale scrap metals to produce market-ready material.
• Direct truck drivers to unloading areas and maintain yard flow.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Keep work area clean and free of hazards around machines.
