Job summary

OmniSource is seeking a motivated General Laborer to support scrap sorting, equipment maintenance, and cleanliness in a safety-focused environment. The role involves operating on the picking line, handling conveyors, and assisting with general tasks to keep the facility productive.

The position requires physical stamina, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and a teamwork mindset. Schedule typically runs Monday–Friday, with possible weekend coverage and incentives.

Qualifications

• Able to work in all weather conditions and physical environments.
• Able to stand and work for extended periods.
• Must frequently lift 50 pounds or more.
• Strong team player with effective collaboration.
• Self-motivated, proactive and eager to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Sort scrap materials on the picking line to upgrade quality and remove nonconforming items.
• Keep conveyors clean by removing spillage using mobile equipment and hand tools.
• Perform regular maintenance on mobile and fixed equipment to ensure functionality.
• Follow all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operations.
