Job summary

SA Recycling LLC is seeking a Laborer to perform unloading, material handling, and basic maintenance at our Alabama scrap metal yard. You will sort materials, operate yard equipment, and assist in equipment repair while following safety rules and environmental policies.

Candidates should be able to communicate effectively, have basic math skills, and be willing to learn metal sorting and PPE usage. A bilingual English/Spanish preference is a plus; high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check.
• Bi-lingual English & Spanish a plus; ability to communicate effectively.
• High school diploma or GED, foreign education acceptable.
• Ability to understand direction and use basic math as job demands.
• Willingness to learn sorting metals, identifying colors/shapes/weights, maintaining equipment, and using PPE.

Responsibilities

• Unload pallets, boxes, and bundles.
• Handle, sort, and move materials; push/pull; load into hoppers and conveyors.
• Unpack boxes and separate plastics and packing materials.
• Disassemble small equipment and remove bolts and parts.
• Operate yard equipment and assist machinery repair with team.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and comply with safety rules.
