Responsabilités

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Scrap Crane Operator is a hands‑on role. The Scrap Crane Operator is responsible for operating equipment to load, transport, and unload scrap baskets within the scrap yard. The Scrap Crane Operator must be able to sit for up to 12 hours a day and climb to heights of 100 feet by way of stairs and/or ladders.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Loading of scrap baskets with stainless steel and carbon scrap per heat recipe
• Unloading of scrap from trucks and railroad cars and placing the scrap in the designated bin
• Perform any other crane operations as assigned
• Collaborate with leadership to train new operators
• Perform duties of EAF crane operator while covering a shift (if signed off on by leadership)
• Performed as necessary or when assigned by a supervisor
• Follow all prescribed safety rules
• Complete all housekeeping tasks
• Complete periodic maintenance check of equipment
• Assist maintenance with tasks during down times
• Perform any other duties as assigned
• Participate in the continuous improvement programs designed for Melt Shop Operations

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines

• Maintain a clean and safe work area
