Job summary

Webasto Group in Plymouth, MI invites motivated students to join our Supply Chain team as an internship. You will apply lean manufacturing techniques to improve material movements, plan time studies, line balancing, and PFEP-driven visuals, and provide weekly task reports.

You'll gain hands-on experience across SCM and Operations, with mentorship, flexible hours, wellness benefits, and opportunities to develop professionally while contributing to real manufacturing improvements.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in SCM Management or related field.
• Warehouse experience with warehouse management software preferred.
• Knowledge of shipping/receiving/accounting procedures preferred.
• Eager to learn with a positive attitude towards work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Apply lean manufacturing techniques to improve material movements from supplier, intracompany, and to the customer.
• Plan and execute SCM Material Handler time studies, line balancing, and process improvements.
• Develop plan for PFEP (Place For Every Part), determine minimum and maximum quantities on production lines, and improve materials visualization.
• Provide weekly summary reports detailing daily tasks.
• Administrative support for the Supply Chain team

This is what you bring to us:

• Currently enrolled in your studies in either SCM Management or related to that field
• Warehouse experience with warehouse management software experience preferred
• Knowledge of shipping/receiving/accounting procedures preferred
• Eager to learn and positive attitude towards work
• Flexibility and capability to work in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to utilize SAP, MS Excel and Word to document experiment results and organize/analyze data
• Strong verbal/written communications skills and the ability to work with a team as well as communicate towards customer if required
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from a floor or table position to chest high using a proper lifting technique
