Job summary

The Kraft Heinz Company at the Glenview R&D Center seeks a Scientist, R&D – Product Development to lead innovative product development initiatives within the MCCS Snacking team. You will guide projects from ideation to commercialization for brands like Lunchables, P3, and OM Bites.

The role requires a BS/MS in a related field and 2 years (or 1 year with MS) of experience, strong communication and project management skills, and a willingness to travel about 30% to sites and co-manufacturers.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Food Science, Food Engineering, Dairy Science, Meat Science, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree or 1 year with Master’s or no relevant experience with PhD.
  • Product development and commercialization experience.
  • Understanding of ingredient functionality and interrelationship of ingredients and process.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, prioritization, and project management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to connect to the big picture.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supply resiliency, renovation, quality improvement and maintenance projects within the Snacking category.
  • Develop new product formulations and portfolio renovation across product lines.
  • From ideation to commercialization: benchtop samples to final production and raw material to finished product specs.
  • Lead product testing, qualification, and commercialization in lab and production environments.
  • Manage multiple development projects concurrently to meet R&D timelines.
  • Use ingredient knowledge and experimental design to make technically sound recommendations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues inside and outside of the team.
  • Coordinate commercialization activities across internal and external manufacturing facilities.

Job Purpose:

This is a Research and Development (R&D) role leading product development initiatives under theSnackingteam within the Meat, Cheese, Coffee, and Snacking (MCCS) platform.We are looking for a talented individual to drive product R&D workstreams within beloved brands like Lunchables, P3, and OM Bites.This role willinvolveexecuting technicalprojects focused oninnovation toimpactshort-term andlong-termstrategic initiatives.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • This role has the responsibility of leading supply resiliency, renovation, qualityimprovementand maintenance projects within the Snacking category.
  • This role has responsibility for developing new product formulations, portfolio renovation, and customer product solutions across various product lines.
  • Work from ideation to commercialization, from benchtop samples to final production, and from raw material to finished product specifications.
  • Lead and complete product testing, qualification, and commercialization in laboratory and production environments.
  • Manage multiple assignments/development projects concurrently to meet R&D timelines.
  • Utilize ingredients and process knowledge, experimentaldesignand data interpretation tools to make technically sound recommendations.

Work Environment & Schedule:

This position is considered aNormaloffice environment with moderate travel to customer locations, stores, manufacturing facilities, etc.; offices are open workspaces

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$77,800.00 - $97,300.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
