Job summary

A prominent research institution in Los Alamos is seeking a Scientist to model ocean-land interface processes for climate applications. The role involves addressing coastal ocean environmental issues, contributing to model development, and supporting key collaborations with the U.S. Department of Energy. Qualifications

Overview

Scientist position in the modeling of ocean-land interface processes for climate applications at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Work on a range of issues related to the changing coastal ocean environment at the land-ocean nexus, including topics in sediment transport, coastal erosion, ecogeomorphology, and impacts of sea-level rise.
• Contribute to construction, analysis and/or application of physical models; incorporate in-situ and remote observations for model development, testing and application.
• Support the U.S. Department of Energy Energy Exascale Earth System Model (E3SM) collaboration.

Qualifications / Desired Experience

• Experience and knowledge of coastal-zone ecogeomorphology, remote sensing, and/or climate modeling.
• Experience in construction, analysis and/or application of physical models.
• Ability to incorporate observations for model development, testing and application.
