Job summary

Dawar Consulting is seeking a Scientist I/II (NGS/Molecular Biology) in Pleasanton, CA. The role focuses on hands-on molecular biology, sequencing workflows, and assay optimization to support development of advanced sequencing assays.

The candidate will extract nucleic acids from clinical samples, perform library prep, enrichment, and methylation sequencing using AXELIOS 1, and collaborate with bioinformatics to improve performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in molecular biology and sequencing workflows.
• Experience with clinical specimens and nucleic acid extraction.
• Familiarity with cfDNA and FFPE samples is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Extract cell-free nucleic acids from clinical plasma, whole blood, and FFPE tissue samples.
• Perform and optimize NGS library preparation, targeted enrichment, and methylation sequencing workflows.
• Execute high-throughput sequencing operations using the AXELIOS 1 sequencer.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, analyze results, troubleshoot workflows, and recommend follow-up experiments.
• Collaborate with molecular biology and bioinformatics teams to improve sequencing performance.

Overview

This position requires a hands-on experience in molecular biology, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and molecular diagnostics to support the development and optimization of advanced sequencing assays.

Key Responsibilities

• Extract cell-free nucleic acids from clinical plasma, whole blood, and FFPE tissue samples.
