Job description

Does it excite you to optimize DMPK properties, and do you have hands‑on experience with LC-MS bioanalysis of complex molecular formats? If this sounds like you, and you are ready to take on a broad area of responsibilities, then you could be our new colleague.

Your new position

Zealand Pharma is significantly expanding its global R&D capabilities and establishing new research units in Cambridge, MA to advance diverse drug modality capabilities in metabolic disease. As part of this expansion, you will play a central role in the DMPK group, advancing LC-MS capabilities and DMPK science within complex molecular formats. This is a unique opportunity for a scientist with strong scientific curiosity and technical expertise across mass spectrometry, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism and bioanalysis.

We offer exciting responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of DMPK discovery platforms and bioanalysis capabilities for complex drug modalities (e.g., antibodies, antibody-peptide conjugates and peptides)
  • Execute the LC-MS bioanalysis workflow, from input to PK study design to method development, sample analysis and reporting of PK and exposure data
  • Support PK and metabolite identification across discovery projects
  • Design and conduct in vitro assays, such as metabolic stability experiments or other project‑relevant DMPK assays
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by adopting efficient, digital and automation‑enabled approaches within DMPK workflows
Your profile

You bring strong technical expertise across the full LC-MS bioanalysis and PK workflow, along with scientific curiosity and sound judgment. You enjoy working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and are motivated to help shape a new platform and research center from an early stage. You communicate scientific data and concepts clearly and work effectively across cross‑functional project teams.

  • PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, chemistry or a related scientific field with 0-3 years of relevant industry or postdoctoral experience; M.S. with approximately 3-6 years of relevant industry experience; or B.S./B.A. with approximately 5-8+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Solid hands‑on background in LC-MS bioanalysis and assay development
  • Experience in PK study design, data interpretation, and translating DMPK insights into actionable project recommendations is an advantage
  • Experience with bioanalysis of complex molecules such as peptides, antibodies and conjugates is an advantage
  • Familiarity with ADME assays and metabolite ID for larger molecules, as well as experience with digital/automation‑enabled bioanalysis and DMPK workflows, is an advantage
Your new team

You will join the Global DMPK department within Pharmacokinetics, Immunogenicity and Bioanalytical Sciences, working closely with cross‑functional R&D stakeholders (e.g., Discovery, Translational, Toxicology, Clinical Pharmacology and Regulatory) to shape study strategies, interpret data, and communicate DMPK risks and recommendations.
