Job summary

Eurofins Scientific is seeking a Scientist II – Analytical Chemist to support the Discovery business with method development and analytical testing in a CRO/industry lab setting. You will lead junior scientists, manage daily lab operations, and contribute to project teams with LC-MS expertise.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of LC-MS experience, strong regulatory validation experience, and a track record in high-throughput method development within a quality-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of LC-MS experience in CRO or industry lab.
  • Experience validating bioanalytical methods per FDA/ICH/OECD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a Quality Management System.
  • High-throughput analytical method development experience.
  • Leadership experience in R&D or innovation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work in a laboratory setting per lab protocols.
  • Develop LC-MS methods for ADME/DMPK and BioAnalysis.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship for junior scientists.
  • Develop analytical methods to support project teams.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain MS and HPLC units.
  • Prepare and manage buffers, reagents, and finished goods.

Job Description

Are you looking to grow your career in analytical chemistry? The Scientist II – Analytical Chemist will support the Eurofins Discovery business in contract research services. This role requires applied experience and proven knowledge in analytical chemistry method development and analysis, with related experience in a contract research organization (CRO) or industry laboratory.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Performwork in a laboratory setting, meeting the physical job requirements of a lab role.
  • DevelopLiquid Chromatography- Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) methods for ADME/ DMPK and BioAnalysis applications
  • Provideleadership and mentorship for junior scientists, and lab leadership through daily lab management, equipment management and lab planning.
  • Developanalytical methods supporting project teams both internally and externally for new assay development.
  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of Mass Spectrometers and HPLC units.
  • Experience with Sciex® or Thermo High Resolution/ Accurate Mass Instrumentation is a plus.
  • Prepareand manages inventory of buffers, reagents, semi-finished and finished goods.
  • Providesolutions to more complex problems, identifies and initiates process improvements
  • Performdata and report QC review within the department and may support the Study Director.
  • Supportvalidation of new methods that contribute to expansion of service/product line, equipment, and data management systems.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate:

  • 5+ years of of direct/demonstrated experience with Liquid Chromatography- Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) in a contract research organization or industry laboratory in one or more of the following areas:
    • Bioanalytical Method Development for Small and/or Large Molecules
    • Drug Metabolism and Metabolite Identification w/ Structural Elucidation
    • Mass Spectrometry-Based Proteomics experimental design & execution
  • Demonstrated experience with validation of bioanalytical methods in accordance with regulatory (FDA, ICH, OECD) guidelines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a Quality Management System
  • Demonstrated proficiency in High-Throughput analytical method development for small molecules.
  • Experience in leading and delivering results in R&D or innovation programs
  • B.S. with 7 years of relevant experience
  • M.S. with 5 years of relevant experience
  • Ph.D. with 3 years of relevant experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Additional Information

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of St. Charles, MO are encouraged to apply.
