Job summary

Eurofins USA Discovery Services in Saint Charles, MO is seeking a Scientist II – Analytical Chemist to support contract research activities. This role requires proven LC-MS method development and analytical experience in CRO or industry labs.

You will lead and mentor junior scientists, manage daily lab operations, and develop methods for ADME/DMPK and BioAnalysis, while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of LC-MS experience in a CRO or industry lab.
• Bioanalytical method development for small and/or large molecules.
• Regulatory method validation per FDA/ICH/OECD guidelines.
• Experience working in a Quality Management System.
• Leadership experience in R&D or innovation programs.
• Bachelor's with 7+ years, Master's with 5+, Ph.D. with 3+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform work in a laboratory setting meeting the physical job requirements of a lab role.
• Develop LC-MS methods for ADME/ DMPK and BioAnalysis applications.
• Provide leadership and mentorship for junior scientists and lab planning.
• Develop analytical methods supporting project teams for new assay development.
• Troubleshoot and maintain Mass Spectrometers and HPLC units.
• Prepare and manage inventory of buffers, reagents, semi-finished and finished goods.
• Provide solutions to complex problems and initiate process improvements.
• Perform data and QC review within the department and support the Study Director.
• Support validation of new methods contributing to service/product line expansion and data management systems.

This role requires applied experience and proven knowledge in analytical chemistry method development and analysis, with related experience in a contract research organization (CRO) or industry laboratory.

Here's what you'll do:

• Performwork in a laboratory setting, meeting the physical job requirements of a lab role.
• DevelopLiquid Chromatography- Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) methods for ADME/ DMPK and BioAnalysis applications
• Provideleadership and mentorship for junior scientists, and lab leadership through daily lab management, equipment management and lab planning.
• Developanalytical methods supporting project teams both internally and externally for new assay development.
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of Mass Spectrometers and HPLC units.
• Experience with Sciex® or Thermo High Resolution/ Accurate Mass Instrumentation is a plus.
• Prepareand manages inventory of buffers, reagents, semi-finished and finished goods.
• Providesolutions to more complex problems, identifies and initiates process improvements
• Performdata and report QC review within the department and may support the Study Director.
• Supportvalidation of new methods that contribute to expansion of service/product line, equipment, and data management systems.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate:

• 5+ years of of direct/demonstrated experience with Liquid Chromatography- Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) in a contract research organization or industry laboratory in one or more of the following areas:
  • Bioanalytical Method Development for Small and/or Large Molecules
  • Drug Metabolism and Metabolite Identification w/ Structural Elucidation
  • Mass Spectrometry-Based Proteomics experimental design & execution
• Demonstrated experience with validation of bioanalytical methods in accordance with regulatory (FDA, ICH, OECD) guidelines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working in a Quality Management System
• Demonstrated proficiency in High-Throughput analytical method development for small molecules.
• Experience in leading and delivering results in R&D or innovation programs
• B.S. with 7 years of relevant experience
• M.S. with 5 years of relevant experience
• Ph.D. with 3 years of relevant experience
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Information

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of St. Charles, MO are encouraged to apply.
