Cogent Biosciences, Inc. is seeking a Scientist, DMPK (BioAnalytical and Medical Writing) to support PK/PK–PD and TK/TGI studies, concentrating on LC-MS/MS quantitation of small molecules in plasma. You will develop assays, perform routine bioanalysis, and communicate high-quality data to project leads.

The role includes maintaining LC-MS/MS systems, troubleshooting instruments, and providing technical writing support. Located in Boulder, CO, on-site with competitive compensation.

Who We Are:

Cogent Biosciences is a publicly traded biotechnology company focused on developing novel precision therapies to treat a broad range of patients with unmet medical needs. Cogent’s lead program, bezuclastinib, is designed to selectively and potently inhibit exon 17 mutations found within the KIT receptor tyrosine kinase, including KIT D816V. KIT D816V is responsible for driving a rare and serious condition called Systemic Mastocytosis, and exon 17 mutations are also found in patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), a type of cancer with strong dependence on oncogenic KIT signaling. Bezuclastinib has exhibited promising initial data across all three trials: APEX in AdvSM, SUMMIT in NonAdvSM and PEAK in GIST, including an encouraging safety profile across 600+ patients in single agent and combination dosing.

The Role: This position works in Drug Discovery to provide bioanalytical support for PK, PK/PD, TK, and TGI experiments across multiple programs. The successful candidate will utilize their strong knowledge of LC-MS/MS bioanalysis to quantitate small molecule drugs in biological matrices (plasma primarily). Independent method development, routine bioanalysis, and communication of high-quality data are hallmarks for the position. Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of LC-MS/MS instrumentation and software is expected. Secondary roles of the position include providing technical writing support and review as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Develop LC-MS/MS methods to quantitate small molecules in biological matrices
• Routine bioanalysis and data release to DMPK project leads
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair LC-MS/MS instrumentation and software, including coordination with service engineers for complex matters
• Support technical writing efforts and data QC for preclinical ADME IND efforts
• Good written and oral communication, including timely electronic laboratory notebook entry
• Proven work ethic, competence, enthusiasm, independence, and team focus

Qualifications:

• Minimum of BA/BS with 10 years or MS with 8 years of analytical work in Pharma/Biotech
• LC-MS/MS
• Independence, awareness, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
• Scientific and technical knowledge around small molecule quantitative bioanalysis
• Strong knowledge of LC-MS/MS instrumentation, troubleshooting, method development, and quantitation
• Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of DMPK and relationships of in vitro and in vivo assays
• Non-compartmental PK modeling
• Process automation via software, robotics, or liquid handling

Salary Range:

$115,000 - 130,000 USD

Exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, and location.
