Job summary

Pomona-Valley-Hospital-Medical-Center in Pomona, CA is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform tests on patient specimens according to established standards. You will interpret results, monitor quality control, maintain instruments, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Eligible candidates must hold a California CLS license and a Bachelor's in Biological Science or Medical Technology; one year of CLS experience in acute care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current California CLS license.
• Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or Medical Technology.
• 1+ year CLS experience in an acute care facility (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens according to established standards.
• Interpret results with age-appropriate reference data and ensure quality control.
• Assist in instruction/education of CLS students and maintain instrument maintenance knowledge.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary:

Performs clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens according to established standards and practices. Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary for interpretation and performance of test results, age-specific data, quality control, instrument maintenance, and quality improvement practices. Assists in the instruction and education of new Clinical Laboratory Scientist and students with regard to testing procedures, department policies, quality control, andinstrumentmaintenance. May perform other duties as assigned.

Current valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license issued by the State of California. Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science or Medical Technology.

[Preferred Qualifications]:

One + year of experience as a CLS in an acute care facility.

Salary range: $47.59 - $66.97 Salary will be commensurate with experience.
