Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Spring House, PA, seeks a Scientist, Biological Research – Oncology to join a drug discovery team advancing prostate cancer programs from lab to preclinical stages. You will design in vitro studies, generate robust data packages, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong cell biology expertise, experience with cancer biology and drug discovery, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with effective communication

Qualifications

• MS with at least 2 years relevant experience, or BS with at least 3 years at Associate Scientist level.
• Strong cell biology and assay development skills.
• Background in cancer biology and drug discovery.
• Experience screening and characterizing biologic and small molecule leads.
• Proficiency with GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, and Microsoft Office.
• Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute sophisticated in vitro experiments, and interpret data for validation and characterization of new therapeutic agents and targets to progress programs
• Support the generation of comprehensive and well-designed pre‑clinical data packages in support of various programs, including for IND readiness for First‑In‑Human (FIH) studies
• Routinely perform cell biology techniques. Experience in cell culture, characterization of cell lines/tissue lysates by western blotting/qPCR/etc, cell proliferation assays including Incucyte‑based assays, flow cytometry/FACS, CRISPR gene knockout and Lentiviral transduction of stable cell lines, cell imaging and other functional assays, etc. is needed.
• Analyze, prepare, and present data to internal stakeholders and project teams
• Work independently and perform multiple experiments simultaneously to generate robust data packages and align with scientific strategies and demands.
• Contribute to various projects outside of their own, and collaborate with team members from all relevant functions
• Keep up to date with the literature related to the field of prostate cancer
• Demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication

We are searching for the best talent for Scientist, Biological Research - Oncology for Spring House, PA.

About The Position

The Scientist will join a drug discovery team developing groundbreaking and best-in-class therapeutics for the treatment of prostate cancer. They will be a key contributor towards advancing research programs through various stages of preclinical drug discovery. This is a laboratory-based position requiring high productivity, effective and frequent collaboration with colleagues within the oncology group and other various cross-functional groups in the organization. This position requires versatility, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and high-level alignment with the Team leadership.

Qualifications / Requirements

• An M.S. with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a B.S. with at least 3 years of relevant experience, performing progressively advanced duties at the Associate Scientist level, or the equivalent training/experience
• Strong cell biology and assay development skills are required
• A robust background in cancer biology and drug discovery is required
• Previous experience screening and characterizing biologic and small molecule leads is required
• Proficiency with software such as GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, and Microsoft Office is required
• Detail‑oriented, with strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, excellent organizational and record‑keeping skills

Preferred

• Experience in Prostate cancer research is preferred.
• Intellectually curious and well-informed about the latest scientific advances in the field
• Demonstration of creativity and novel approaches to solving scientific problems
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with others, internally and externally
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to effectively present scientific data and concepts to diverse audiences.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$92,000.00 - $148,350.00

Additional Description For Pay Transparency

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long‑term incentive program.

Benefits

• Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
• Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
