Job summary

Pace Analytical Services, LLC is seeking a Scientist 1 for our Fairfield, NJ laboratory. The role is full-time, onsite, Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a starting wage of $21.00 per hour.

You will perform hands-on analysis in our environmental testing lab and help ensure data quality for environmental samples. You will work with GC, HPLC and ICP instruments, prepare and analyze air, water and soil samples, document procedures, and maintain lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related science
• Willing to train new hires for the role

Compensation: $21.00 per hour

The salary for this position reflects a variety of factors. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, and alignment with internal equity. • Review and interpret the results from the sample analysis
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality, organized laboratory records
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other science related degrees—or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. We are happy to provide training!
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves—all provided by Pace)
