Job summary

Pace® Analytical Services in the United States is seeking a Scientist to perform hands-on environmental testing in our laboratory. In this role you will work with GC, HPLC and ICP instruments to analyze air, water and soil samples, ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or a related STEM field, the ability to stand for extended periods, proper PPE, and readiness for overtime and on-call weekend rotations.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment with PPE provided.
• Experience or familiarity with GC, HPLC, ICP analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on analysis of air, water, and soil samples in the lab.
• Operate instruments such as GC, HPLC and ICP and ensure data quality.
• Document procedures, observations and results accurately.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and records.
• Adhere to safety protocols and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Shift:

Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Some overtime required. Also required to join our on-call rotation which will require weekend work sometimes.

Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, and alignment with internal equity. What You'll Do

• Work with instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and more
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods looking for environmental contaminants
• Review and interpret the results from the sample analysis
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality, organized laboratory records
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other STEM related degrees - or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. We are happy to provide training!
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves - all provided by Pace®)
