Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies seeks an analytical chemist in North Chicago, IL for a 12-month onsite role. You will perform routine analytical tests, develop small-molecule programs, and learn new techniques in a fast-paced team setting.

Responsibilities include documentation, protocol authorship, and data interpretation. GMP compliance and strong communication are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemistry or related science/engineering field with at least 2 years of lab experience.
  • Ability to work in a lab, standing and operating instruments for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and protocols without deviations.
  • Ability to document work clearly and timely.
  • Proficiency with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, spectrometry, MS and related data systems is desirable.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analytical chemist responsible for commercial and pipeline small-molecule development within Product Development Science & Technology Operations.
  • Perform routine analytical chemistry tests to generate reliable results.
  • Learn and implement new experimental techniques.
  • Demonstrate skills across analytical methods (HPLC, GC, titration, spectrometry); author protocols and reports.
  • Use data interpretation and critical thinking to troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation; design and conduct relevant tests.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all work, including electronic lab notebooks.
  • Present results and experimental data in team meetings.
  • Comply with GMP and other applicable regulations.

Key Skills and Experience
  • At least a BS in Chemistry or other relevant science or engineering fields, typically with at least 2 years of laboratory-based experience.
  • Physical ability to work in a lab setting, including standing and operating lab instruments for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills for Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, standard methods, and protocols without deviations.
  • Ability to document work clearly and timely.
  • Proficiency with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, spectrometry, mass spectrometry, and associated data systems (nice to have).
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work in a fast‑paced team environment.
  • Organizational, planning, and troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent documentation of all work, including electronic lab notebooks and other documentation.
  • Present results and experimental information in team meetings.
  • Follow GMP and other regulations as requested.
Work Schedule

Monday – Friday; standard 40‑hour work week. Overtime may be required.

Interview Process

Video interview with the team followed by a second on‑site interview.
