Job summary

ATCC, a global nonprofit supplying biological materials for science and health, seeks a Technical Writer for its Manassas, VA site. The role supports ATCC Federal Solutions by researching, organizing, writing, and editing scientific information for documentation across platforms.

Ideal candidates have a biology or life sciences background, strong technical writing skills, and experience ensuring accuracy, consistency, and ISO-aligned documentation within a science-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience, or equivalent (Master's degree with 0 years, HS diploma with 6 years).
• Technical writing and editing experience.
• Experience reviewing scientific literature and data to support documentation accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, edit, and review reports, SOPs, product information sheets, proposals, and related technical documentation.
• Create instructional, descriptive, reference, and informational documentation including manuals, work instructions, protocols, and supporting materials.
• Review scientific literature and data to authenticate documented manufacturing specifications and support technical content accuracy.
• Integrate information from multiple sources into a consistent style and language while ensuring documentation meets ISO standards.
• Edit existing documentation and rewrite procedures, specifications, and forms as directed.
• Support website maintenance, add information to web detail pages, assist with document accessibility, and adhere to project timelines.
