Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a motivated candidate to apply waveform lidar data analysis and scientific programming to real-world geoscience problems. The role focuses on sensor calibration, data visualization, and robust data quality across interdisciplinary projects.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience, strong skills in Python/IDL/MATLAB, and a collaborative mindset for working with airborne remote sensing and field campaign data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Physical Science discipline.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in scientific programming.
  • Proficiency in Python, IDL, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Experience with signal processing for space or earth science applications.
  • Experience developing data visualizations to communicate results to scientific audiences.
  • Familiarity with airborne remote sensing instruments, field campaign data, or multi-sensor data integration.
  • US Permanent Residency or US Citizenship required.
  • Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary, team-oriented research.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage data from waveform sensors to enhance operations and improve data precision
  • System enhancements to real-time user interfaces
  • Developing and enhancing approaches for waveform lidar data analysis
  • Calibrate/validate air and spaceborne sensor data
  • Troubleshoot data processing and quality issues
