Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates in Houston, TX is seeking a Scientific Photographer III to support the NASA eMITS imagery group. The role includes shooting rocket launches, official portraits, and producing multimedia content for NASA communications.

The position requires time-lapse and 360VR work, plus use of Adobe Creative Suite, Hasselblad Phocus, and Photo Mechanic across Windows/Mac systems. A competitive package is offered.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and a valid U.S. passport are required.
  • Bachelor's degree in photography/video or related imaging field from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

  • Photograph and video at ceremonies, visiting dignitaries, educational events and NASA special events.
  • Capture engineering and hardware imagery; official portraits in a controlled environment.
  • Provide video shoots of meetings and activities; professional lighting for production shoots.
  • Create time-lapse and 360VR photography and video; offer art direction to customers.
  • Develop procedures for image capture; operate imaging workstations and related software.

Job Description

AMA is seeking a Scientific Photographer III to provide photo/video support for JSC Imagery Acquisition Group in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency's enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing engaging videos, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA's message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA's communication to the outside world. Responsibilities
  • Award ceremonies, visiting dignitaries, educational events and NASA special events.
  • Engineering & hardware photo and video documentation.
  • Official portraits in controlled lighting/studio environment.
  • Working with video cameras and providing video shoots of meetings and activities.
  • Professional photography and lighting for production shoots.
  • Time-lapse and 360VR photography & video.
  • Consultation and art direction to customers.
  • Develop procedures and methods for image capture.
  • Work with imaging workstation computers, laptops, Windows Enterprise, Apple Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite, Hasselblad Phocus, Photo Mechanic and other image related software.
Requirements
  • Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and have a current valid U.S. passport.
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in photography/video or related imaging field from an accredited University or Technical Institute.

Salary range is $62,026.20 - $74,896.64
