Job summary

Leica Biosystems, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Scientific Global Product Leader for Advanced Staining Reagents to define strategy for AI-enabled diagnostic assays and CDx programs. You will translate market insights into actionable product plans, lead lifecycle ownership, and collaborate across R&D, Clinical, Regulatory and Commercial teams.

The role supports remote global activities and reports to the VP, Portfolio and Programs Advanced Staining Reagents.

Qualifications

  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree is required.
  • Strong understanding of CDx development and AI-enabled diagnostics.
  • Experience with digital pathology and software as a medical device.
  • Proven ability to lead product lifecycle ownership and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

The Scientific Global Product Leader, Advanced Staining Reagents leads scientific aspects of global product management for CDx programs with pharmacos, AI-enabled diagnostic assays and digital pathology solutions. The role defines product strategy, roadmap and success metrics; translates market, customer and clinical insights into commercially viable solutions; and partners cross-functionally to deliver differentiated products that support Leica Biosystems’ growth in precision medicine.

This position reports to the VP, Portfolio and Programs Advanced Staining Reagents and is part of the Product Management team working remotely to cover global activities.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Define and communicate the product vision, strategy and roadmap for AI-enabled diagnostic assays, aligned to business objectives, portfolio priorities and customer needs. Use market research, Voice of Customer, clinical evidence and competitive insights to identify growth opportunities, prioritize product requirements and inform investment decisions. Lead product lifecycle management from concept through launch and sustainment, including minimum marketable product definition, performance metrics, ROI and portfolio optimization.

Partner with Advanced Staining Reagents, Digital Pathology, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Commercial, Sales and Marketing teams to deliver scalable, compliant and commercially successful solutions.

Support evidence generation, publication planning, market access and adoption strategies to demonstrate clinical, economic and customer value.

Engage internal and external stakeholders, including pharma partners, research institutions, KOLs and commercial teams, to shape product strategy, launch plans and partnership opportunities.

The essential requirements of the job include: Advanced clinical or scientific degree (MD, PharmaD, Phd), essential. Strong understanding of CDx development, AI-enabled diagnostics, digital pathology, software as a medical device and oncology or cancer diagnostics markets. Strong scientific / medical experience coupled with commercial orientation, with the ability to translate clinical, scientific and customer insights into product strategy, value propositions and adoption plans. Significant experience in product management, medical affairs, clinical development or commercial leadership within life sciences, diagnostics, digital pathology or related markets. Exceptional stakeholder, relationship management and influencing skills across matrixed teams, senior leaders and external partners. Demonstrated success in leading clinical trial execution and product lifecycle ownership, preferably for CDx, AI, digital pathology, or computational diagnostics.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: Up to 30% depending on location (including travel to the Deer Park IL site) It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Preferred experience includes AI/ML medical devices, oncology diagnostics, pharma or biotech partnerships, agile development, product management certification and medical device regulatory environments such as FDA or CE marking. Well-connected in pharma and biotech. Proven track record and significant experience leading CDx or AI-enabled products with partners.

The annual salary range is $225,000 to $260,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees. Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
