Position Overview
MJH Life Sciences seeks a Scientific Director of Clinical Communications to lead the creation of oncology education content for live events and sponsored video projects. The role involves collaborating with internal and external partners to develop, review, and deliver high-quality scientific information that educates healthcare providers and improves patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Identify client needs and provide strategic recommendations for creating accurate, high‑quality scientific content for digital, video, and live/virtual deliverables.
- Apply evidence‑based medical literature, clinical practice guidelines, and disease‑state information across therapeutic areas.
- Support preparation of project materials for pharmaceutical promotional reviews, ensuring compliance with processes and content requirements.
- Revise content through internal and external reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
- Supervise direct reports, providing guidance on writing/editing best practices and training Medical Writers and Editors.
- Prioritize workloads for reports, manage timelines and deliverables, and ensure timely completion of high‑quality content.
- Attend live events, advisory boards, and similar programming to capture presentation highlights and develop summary documents.
- Represent Clinical Communications as a content expert, interfacing with clients, key opinion leaders, and cross‑functional teams to communicate complex scientific information.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise for business‑development efforts, collaborating with sales associates and participating in project‑management functions such as SOWs, timelines, and budgets.
- Mentor rotating pharmacy students (APPE rotations).
Qualifications
- A clinical degree (PharmD, DO, MD) or advanced degree (MS, PhD) in a healthcare‑related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in an agency or medical‑communications company focused on digital, event, or promotional video deliverables.
- Significant oncology account experience.
- Experience managing teams or leading projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to multitask and meet multiple timelines.
- Excellent writing, editing, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel 3–5 days per month for meetings, events, and video production.
Compensation
Salary range: $130,000 – $140,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for an annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role performance.
