Job summary

Sapio Sciences, a lab informatics leader, seeks an experienced Scientific Business Analyst with deep Life Sciences domain knowledge and strong LIMS/ELN experience to consultatively define and implement solutions. You will translate customer needs into functional requirements, document end-to-end business processes, and support deployments across Sapio platforms in a primarily remote role with travel.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer requests and translate them into functional requirements.
• Document business processes and workflows using swim lane diagrams.
• Identify success criteria and ensure they are tracked and measured.
• Maintain understanding of Sapio product portfolio and configurations.
• Provide end-user training on customized solutions to meet customer goals.
• Configure workflows/experiments in Sapio Platform; create wireframe mockups when needed.
• Document and communicate technical material clearly (oral and written).
• Perform root cause analysis and facilitate solution delivery.
• Work independently to meet quality and deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Liaise with product team to capture new feature requirements.
• Act as trusted technical partner; review deployment to leverage products/services.
• Collaborate with Sapio US team to establish scalable processes.
• Meticulously manage deployment services documentation.
• Assist in testing sprint deliverables to ensure requirements.

About the role:

An experienced Scientific Business analyst you will be confident working in Life Sciences to consultatively define, implement and help support our solution to the delight of our customers. You will have a deep knowledge of LIMS, ELN and SDMS products and their application within the Laboratory setting.

The working location:

_We are open to considering someone based in either the US or in the UK _ (so long as you have the right to work in either of these countries). This will be a primarily remote position, with up to 30% travel expected to client sites, and in-person team meetings on a quarterly basis (subject to Business needs).

What you’ll be doing:

• Interpret customer requests and translate them into functional requirements (recognize the distinction between user requests from the underlying true needs)
• Documentation of business processes and workflow (‘as is’ and ‘to be’) using swim lane diagrams
• Identify customers key success criteria and ensure they are tracked and measured within the solution.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the Sapio Sciences product portfolio and how it is configured.
• Effectively provide end user training on customized solution to show how the implementationmet customer’s goal
• Be able to perform configurations of the workflow/experiment in the Sapio Platform, and/or in some cases create wireframe mockups of the workflow/experiment.
• Effectively document, communicate (oral and written) and explain technical material.
• Perform root cause analysis, uncover critical business requirements, and facilitate solution delivery.
• Expected to function independently and produce results that meet standards of quality, timeliness, and acceptability with minimal supervision.
• Liaise with the product to ensure new customer driven feature requirements are captured.
• Become our customer’s trusted technical partner, regularly review their deployment to ensure successful leverage our full product and service portfolio.
• Work closely with the Sapio Sciences US team to establish scalable processes and working methods.
• Meticulously manage all BA related deployment services documentation
• As needed, assist in testing sprint deliverables to ensure they meet requirements.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience with LIMS or ELN software
• Life Sciences experience working within a Lab (preferably introducing new IT solutions)
• A BS/BA degree or equivalent in Life Science (e.g. molecular biology, chemistry)
• Qualified in lean Six Sigma
• Working knowledge and experience with JIRA and Confluence
• Substantial experience of effectively managing external stakeholders including strong communication skills and ability to build working relationships at all levels.
• Experience leading external client workshops, documenting business needs and outcomes.
• Proven organizational skills, with the ability to deliver agreed workload within deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, interviewing, data analysis and fact-finding skills.
• Excellent listening and presentation skills
