Job Description

Miami-Dade County Public Schools is a professional position responsible for the instruction of one or more subjects to K-12 school students.

Job Tasks / Responsibilities
  • Instructs students using various teaching methods, including lectures and demonstrations.
  • Prepares course objectives and outlines following curriculum guidelines.
  • Assigns lessons, assesses student progress including homework assignments, and evaluates presentations.
  • Prepares and administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, records results, issues reports to inform parents, and assigns final grades.
  • Maintains attendance and grade records as required by school.
  • Counsels students when adjustment and academic problems arise.
  • Maintains discipline in the classroom.
  • Meet with parents to discuss students’ academic, social, and behavioral progress.
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and in-service classes.
  • Perform related work as required or as assigned by the supervising administrator or designee.
Physical Requirements

This light work requires mobility, reaching, sitting, finger dexterity, lifting, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity.

Starting Teacher Salary: $53,159.00*
