Job summary

Life Time, Inc. in Charlotte is seeking an Aquatics Swim Instructor to help members of all ages improve their swimming and water safety.

You will instruct swimming lessons and Aquatics events, evaluate progress, and ensure a safe, clean, and organized pool area while promoting all Aquatics programs and services.

The role supports a fast-paced club environment and requires the ability to communicate with guests, work around the facility, and complete Life Time training.

Qualifications

• Working toward a High School Diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of Life Time courses upon hire.
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid certifications (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year).

Job description

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. You will teach life skills to our youngest members and evaluate their swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons and Aquatics events
• Responds to member questions, comments, and concerns
• Provides a safe, clean and organized pool area
• Promotes and sells all Aquatics programs and services

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education:

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED

Years of Experience:

• Successfully complete and pass all Life Time courses upon hire
• Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:

• StarGuardElite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge toStarGuardwhen current certification expires or within 1styear, whichever is first).For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience
