Job summary

Toledo School District 237 Bus Garage in Washington seeks a Van Driver to operate district vehicles safely and support student transportation. The role requires a clean driving record, defensive driving ability, and strong communication with staff and families.

Responsibilities include daily vehicle inspections, log maintenance, and adherence to district safety rules. The position is part-time with hourly pay and benefits may apply based on hours worked.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Hold a valid Washington State driver’s license and keep current on file.
• Submit a current driver’s abstract for past 5 years.
• Certified in first aid/CPR and keep on file.
• Pass FBI and Washington State Patrol background checks.
• Complete SafeSchools Training: Defensive Driving, Distracted Driving, City Driving, Winter Driving, Van Safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate a district vehicle safely and legally.
• Inspect the van daily before operation.
• Maintain discipline on the van per district policies.
• Maintain daily van logs and required reports.
• Report defects and safety hazards promptly.
• Wash and vacuum vehicles and perform light maintenance.
• Complete all licenses and certifications required.
• Adhere to safety rules and district procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and assist students as needed.
