Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Indiana driver's license.
• Must meet district and state requirements for operating the vehicle.
• Must maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Background checks and screenings required.
• Complete transportation, safety, and student-management training.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students according to routes, schedules, and procedures.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment for students.
• Follow traffic laws and district policies.
• Assist with student loading and unloading when needed.
• Maintain records (mileage, inspections, counts, documentation).
• Communicate professionally with students, parents/guardians, staff, and Transportation Department.
