Qualifications

Job description

Step into an impactful role supporting K-12 students as a School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) on a contract basis for the 2026-2027 academic year, with the possibility of starting as soon as possible through June 2027. This full-time opportunity comes with a Monday through Friday schedule, offering consistent hours of 35 to 37.5 hours each week. Youll play a crucial part in fostering communication skills and educational growth for students across multiple sites in the Willimantic area.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
• Previous experience in a school setting is highly desirable
• Familiarity with providing speech and language support to diverse K-12 student populations
• Strong collaborative skills for working under the supervision of Speech-Language Pathologists and with multidisciplinary teams
• Adaptability to support services at one or more school locations as needed
• Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct speech-language interventions as outlined by supervising SLPs
• Assist in screening, assessing, and documenting student progress
• Implement individualized education program (IEP) goals under direction of licensed SLPs
• Support caseloads spanning elementary through high school levels
• Travel between school sites may be required based on student needs
• Maintain compliant records and contribute to detailed progress reporting
